Press Conference News

A couple of key points from Saturday's season launch press conference are that between three and five home games are likely to be staged away from Omiya Park in an attempt to attract bigger crowds. Also President Watanabe set the target of a top five finish. Jang Wae Ryong said that although he was planning in the first instance to keep Ardija's traditional four-man defence, he wanted to have more than one system to draw upon.

Some comments about Park from a contact in Korea:

"Park (who looks a little like Park Ji-sung) has played often as a right wing-back or in midfield. As you would expect, he is energetic, covers a lot of ground and chips in with the odd goal - he is an intelligent player who looked to have a bright future.

"He made it to the fringes of the national team about a year ago but never played (certainly not a competitive match) and has since fallen off the radar a little. A move is probably good for him and he is certainly a decent player."
