Watched my first ever Omiya match last night, thought the boys played well but were unlucky hitting the woodwork. A point at Urawa is a decent result, but you feel they could've had more. Looking forward to seeing more matches online, and will be out to see my first game live in July.

Best wishes from Canada!

Thanks for that, Daniel, and welcome. In point of fact that was actually a home game for Ardija, who as you may or may not know have a far, far smaller support than the Reds (who have by some distance the biggest support of any J-League club).

This being the case, Ardija management preferred to stage the match not at Omiya Koen (capacity 15,000), but to move it instead to the local enormodome - which just so happens to be Reds' home ground. The result is that the money from about 22,000 additional fans made its way into Ardija's coffers, but we effectively ceded home advantage.
