GGOA Hits Twitter, pt 2

Just to explain a little bit about the coloured tab labelled Tweets that you may have noticed in recent weeks on the left-hand side of this page. GGOA now offers a service using the increasingly popular Twitter system of sending and receiving short instant messages via the web. We're mainly using it to communicate small snippets of information that are either very topical or don't fit comfortably in the overall GGOA news item / comment format - for example, the most recent one is a quick alert that Daigo Kobayashi will this evening be making his Champions League debut for Stabaek.

You absolutely don't need to have a Twitter account to access these messages: anyone can simply click on the Tweets tab to read the latest batch. However, if it so happens that you are already Twittering, you can set yourself up to follow GGOA from here. In fact, there are already a number of other English-language J-League Twitterers out there, for details of which you can check out the list that has been added to the Links section at the bottom right-hand side of this page.

Well, so as soon as I launch the Twitter account properly then for some mysterious reason it gets suspended. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible, etc. Oh, and Daigo has scored the first goal for Stabaek in their Champions League game, 1-0 after 34' minutes.

The game finished KF Tirana 1-1 Stabaek. Daigo's goal was a bit of quick-thinking after a defender dealt poorly with a long ball into the box and he scored with a good left-footed angled finish. Tirana equalised very soon after half time and in all honesty Daigo didn't do all that much in the second half. He was substituted just before the end.

A reasonably even game although Tirana finished stronger without creating that much. Hopefully home advantage in the second leg next week should see Stabaek through - but I couldn't say that the tie is over yet, even with the away goal. They still have some work to do.

Twitter seems to be working again, anyway.
