Daigo Set For Move To Greece?

There are strong rumours circulating on fansites - summarised here linking Daigo Kobayashi with a move to Greek club Iraklis. Daigo has been without a club since leaving Stabaek at the end of the Norwegian season in the autumn and it has been striking how little news there has been of his intentions since that point, aside from a brief trial in Germany with Koln.

Iraklis are based in Thessaloniki in northern Greece and are currently thirteenth out of sixteen in the Greek first division, a single point above the relegation zone. They last appeared in European competition in the UEFA Cup in 2006/07, but were eliminated in the First Round by Polish opposition. Their squad currently includes players from a number of countries outside Greece, including Portugal, Italy, Spain , Brazil and Argentina, although the Blue and Whites are obviously going through a turbulent time, having after a defeat the weekend changed to coach #3 for the season; now in charge is Slovak Josef Bubenko. Iraklis supporters are discussing the Daigo issue (in Greek, obviously) here.

Hi Steve,
I like the article you wrote about Verdy and the quagmire we are in!! Seeminly we are safe until next winter when this years debts have mounted up and have to be to be cleared AGAIN!! First game is at Ajinomoto so it looks like we are still gonna be paying top dollar to hire that barn every other week and fill it with 4,000 if we are lucky. Good luck for the season and its my mission to keep going on the site for a whole season....I gave up last year because the team annoyed the shit out of me!!!!
Nick
