Morita Update

There seemed briefly to be something of a question mark over the whole deal, but former Ardija striker Hiroshi Morita is settling in at his new club, Thai Port FC. Marcus at the English-language Thai Port FC blog reports that Morita joined in with the festivities to mark Songkran, or the Thai New Year, participating in the traditional ritual of pouring scented water into the hands of elders - in this case, club chairman Pichet Mankong and team manager Sasom Pobpraserd - to pay respect and ask for blessings.

Thai Port have in the last few days qualified for the last sixteen, knock-out phase of the AFC Cup, with a 0-0 draw in Vietnam against Shb Da Nang that guarantees Thai Port second place in Group H with one match to go. Morita will be eligible to play in the latter rounds, while more immediately if he is fit and has been granted international clearance, Morita could be in the squad for Saturday's match against TOT-CAT. Thanks indeed to Marcus for the information.
