Watabe: Level Up

Congratulations to Daisuke Watabe, whose appearance in Ardija's Nabisco Cup game at Nagoya Grampus means that he has played enough minutes in the first team to move to a J-League A-grade player contract. The 21-year-old is officially registered as a forward, but under new coach Jun Suzuki and even under predecessor Jang Wae Ryong has been used increasingly as a wingback, competing for a place in the starting line-up with veteran Arata Sugiyama.
