Omiya Move For Nagata?

The Yomiuri Shimbun website is reporting here that Ardija are chasing central defender Mitsuru Nagata, who plays for coach Jun Suzuki's previous club Albirex Niigata. The 27-year-old has been a first team regular with Albirex for three seasons and an ever-present in 2010. The news that Suzuki is aiming to strengthen a key part of his team comes as the Squirrels' back line has been looking especially vulnerable, having conceded nine goals in the last three matches. Affected by loss of form, suspension and injury, the middle of the Omiya defence has been unsettled for most of the year, with no fewer than five different partnerships having been fielded by Suzuki and predecessor Jang Wae Ryong.
