His Name Is Fuka

Squirrels' new boss Jang Wae-Ryong has brought with him physical coach Fuka from previous club Incheon United, as part of Omiya Ardija's new backroom team alongside new head coach Hiroshi Ohashi. Fuka, now 49, had a brief playing career as a goalkeeper in his native Brazil before retiring at the age of 27 and immediately moving into coaching roles. He first came to Japan in 1995 as a high school goalkeeping coach, but quickly progressed to Shimizu S-Pulse, where he stayed on the staff until 2003. After a short spell back in Brazil, Fuka went to Korea and Incheon, where for the last two seasons he has been physical coach and assistant coach to Jang.
