Fujita Set To Move?

The Yomiuri Shimbun report here that Yokohama FC are pursuing Squirrels striker Yoshihito Fujita. 27-year-old Fujita was on the Sagan Tosu team that was coached by current Yokohama boss Yasuyuki Kishino and indeed it was his record of scoring 42 goals over the 2007 and 2008 seasons that led to a move to J1 and Omiya two years ago. During 2009 Fujita was fielded as a first-choice striker alongside Naoki Ishihara but never seemed quite as able as his new team-mate, who having moved to Ardija from Shonan Bellmare was also making the step up from J2. In the 2010 campaign, the arrival of Jun Suzuki as coach more or less ended Fujita's opportunities in the first team and as such it will not be a surprise to see him leave Omiya over the close season.
