Player Of The Year Results!

Many thanks to everyone who voted in the GGOA Player of the Year survey, which attracted the largest number of votes for any of the polls that have been organised by the site. The survey is now closed and it’s time to reveal – ta-daaah!! - the result… and the winner of the GGOA Player of the Year for 2010 is none other than goalkeeper Takashi Kitano. In moving to Omiya a year ago, Kitano had a tough job in replacing popular number 1 Koji Ezumi but throughout a very solid season has impressed with his shot-stopping, organisational abilities and concentration. In the vote itself there was competition from goalscorers Naoki Ishihara and Rafael, plus defender Shusuke Tsubouchi but Kitano has emerged as a clear winner. Many congratulations to Takashi!

The full survey results are as follows:

1. Takashi Kitano 37%
2. Naoki Ishihara 24%
3. Shusuke Tsubouchi 20%
4. Rafael 17%
5. Shin Kanazawa 0%
