Aoki & Shimizu: The Dream Team

Squirrels squad players Takuya Aoki and Keiki Shimizu both took part in this year's so-called Dream Match, in which J2 outfit Thespa Kusatsu play a scratch team made up of J-Leaguers who come from Thespa's home prefecture of Gunma. Young midfielder Aoki played the whole match while goalkeeper Shimizu appeared as a second half substitute. The game finished a 1-1 draw, Kusatsu having taken the lead through forward Yasunori Takada midway through the first period only for Yokohama F Marinos' Naoki Matsuda to tie things up in the 64th minute.
