Meeting News pt 2

The Yomiuri Shimbun website has published brief details of the Wednesday evening meeting between Ardija club staff and 150 Squirrels supporters concerned and angry at the direction that the team has taken under coach Jang Wae Ryong. The meeting was attended by both president Seigo Watanabe and general manager Haruo Yuuki - who confirmed that Jang would remain in charge at the club despite fans' demands that the Korean be sacked. Watanabe and Yuuki also indicated that former international midfielder Junichi Inamoto is one of several players that they are trying to bring to the squad.

Hope these supposed targets include defenders and midfielders.

Looks like they have backed themselves into a corner with this decision.

As Jang is leaving at the end of the season anyway it wouldn't be a massive problem if he left now - especially how results have gone recently.

Guess he is reluctant to "fall on his sword".

"Looks like they have backed themselves into a corner with this decision."

Very much agree, OF.

I gather that Sakuma in the end did get fired / asked to leave because of his having made so many mistakes. It's a big decision to support a coach, and to indicate that you're willing to spend more money further to support that coach, when all the evidence suggests that he has lost the dressing room... and, as you point out, Jang is off at the end of the year anyway.
