Close-Season Gossip, pt 9

The Yahoo Japan website are reporting that Omiya are close to making their first major signing of the winter, in the shape of Oita Trinita defender Yuki Fukaya. The site suggests that several clubs, including newly-promoted Cerezo Osaka, have been chasing Fukaya, who missed the first half of the 2009 season due to a knee injury but has otherwise been almost an ever-present for the Turtles dating back to 2005. Meanwhile the Yomiuri reports that Sanfrecce Hiroshima are to make a formal offer to Oita for goalkeeper Shusaku Nishikawa.
